Lono Hollywood
Lono Hollywood is an urban oasis tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Hollywood. A curated tiki mashup of classic Polynesian flavors and old-timey post prohibition Hollywood nostalgia.
We explored various iconic tiki emblems and artifacts searching for the perfect embodiment of Lono’s vibe and mission. We eventually landed on the ever lasting palm tree and three coconuts falling beneath it. These coconuts falling under the leaves are a nod to the prohibition era symbol of rain drops falling inside an umbrella which was code for, “we’re serving booze!” The Lono word mark needed to feel old timey, but modern at the same time. So we used the texture of an old piece of washed up wood, marooned on a tiny island I’m sure at one point. We then balanced the word mark with a classic single line script of 50’s hollywood typography.
